Rallying support
Once again, SPC partnered the Singapore Children’s Society in Flag Day to rally support for the charitable organisation on 2 January 2010. Like the previous Flag Day in June 2009, all 38 SPC stations served as donations points and the staff continued to put their best efforts to encourage motorists to make their contributions. Internally, SPC echoed this meaningful cause by collecting donations from the employees to raise more funds for the needy children.

donations to help the less fortunate children in Singapore.
Charity Sale
SPC organised a charity sale in January 2010 for staff to bid for 58 pieces of used office furniture and equipment. A stately sum of about $1000 in sale proceeds was collected and donated to the Singapore Children’s Society.
Spreading Christmas Cheer
On 2 December 2009, a team of SPC volunteers brought love and Christmas gifts to the children at Sunbeam Place. To add warmth to the festive cheer, SPC staff prepared delicious homemade goodies such as cookies, muffins, brownies and konnyaku for the children. Besides organising the party, SPC also contributed stationery sets for the new school year to 180 children at four centres run by the Singapore Children’s Society.
Sunbeam Place is operated by the Singapore Children’s Society for abused and neglected children.
Through the years, SPC has inculcated a strong culture of employee
volunteerism among its staff.
Walk for our Children
On 26 July 2009, as many as one-quarter of SPC’s Singapore-based employees volunteered to participate in Walk for our Children 2009. Led by members of SPC’s senior management team, a contingent of enthusiastic SPC staff members trekked along a 2.5-kilometre route for a good cause. Another group of SPC volunteers manned the game stalls that followed after the walk. Proceeds from the sale of the carnival coupons benefitted the Singapore Children’s Society.
The volunteers were immersed in smiles and high spirits,
knowing that their efforts would make a difference to the children.
Celebrating Forty Years of Achievements
As part of SPC’s 40th anniversary celebrations in 2009, the Company cemented its alliance with the Singapore Children’s Society as SPC’s adopted charity for the year.
The adoption of the Singapore Children’s Society signifies SPC’s
commitment to undertake an active role in protecting and nurturing
the children and youth of Singapore.
