Business Analyst (ETRM)
Job Overview
This role is responsible for supporting the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing operations of the Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system by acting as a functional expert, bridging business and technology, optimizing trading and risk management processes, and ensuring system stability, user adoption, and service quality across projects, global rollouts, and post go‑live support.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with vendors and system integrators on post–go-live enhancements and Global Rollout projects. Participate in project activities such as requirements validation, functional design, test plan development, data cleansing, and system migration strategies.
- As an ETRM Expert, the candidate is expected to actively assess and provide solutions to meet functional requirements and resolve complex business scenarios with solution architects and software designers.

Participate in and/or lead projects and change management initiatives to optimize business processes.

Design effective testing strategies, write test cases, and conduct functional and end-to-end testing.

Assist the IT Team in ensuring smooth operations of the core ETRM and peripheral applications. Devise mitigation plans to bridge immediate operational gaps and ensure business-as-usual during system cutover and after go-live.

Post go-live, the Business Analyst will be the key on-site contact person to:

- Provide system administrative support to the local user community
- Assess change requests and work out solutions to address them
- Provide training to business units
- Compile user manuals and business guides

Work with developers as Level 2 (L2) support in managing daily incidents and change requests related to the ETRM, and assist in developing a support model with relevant SLA metrics.

Develop a “fit for purpose” support model and continuously measure and fine-tune support performance to meet committed SLAs.

Provide knowledge sharing, gap analysis, and functional solution design support in ETRM Global Rollout projects.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognized educational institution.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with major ETRM systems such as ASPECT, Enuit, Openlink, Allegro, or Triple Point.
- Experience as a functional consultant in the implementation of a new ETRM system and its subsequent operations.
- Strong industry knowledge of energy trading and risk management workflows and methodologies.
- Experience in requirements gathering, functional design, and documentation.
- Experience in test case creation and execution.
- Proven track record in managing users and driving business process optimization.
- Experience in Level 1 and/or Level 2 ETRM support, with a strong understanding of business and system processes across the end-to-end commodity trading value chain.
- Continuous engagement with trading end-users and the ability to champion new initiatives and projects to improve work processes and ETRM system capabilities.
