Project Manager – 1 Year Contract
Job Overview
This role is responsible for leading and delivering multiple concurrent IT and software development projects, ensuring timely execution, high-quality outcomes, and alignment with business objectives.
The position serves as a critical execution driver, overseeing end-to-end project lifecycles while maintaining clear visibility into progress, risks, and performance across all workstreams.
Responsibilities:
- Simultaneously manage multiple small- to medium-scale internal IT/software projects, ensuring consistent delivery across all workstreams.
- Establish and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and deliverables for each project; proactively identify blockers and drive resolution through direct follow-up and escalation.
- Act as a decisive execution driver — when projects stall or teams face obstacles, take the initiative to break logjams by engaging the right stakeholders, challenging delays, and driving rapid decision-making.
- Identify project risks early (e.g., schedule slippage, scope creep, dependency delays, quality issues), communicate them transparently to leadership, and propose actionable mitigation plans.
- Enforce project discipline by ensuring requirements are clearly documented, change requests are formally evaluated, and scope boundaries are maintained.
- Track and report key project metrics (e.g., completion rate, milestone adherence, issue resolution time, team velocity) on a weekly and monthly basis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on project management experience in IT/software development environments, with a proven track record of delivering multiple concurrent projects on time.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from PMI — active credential required.
- Agile project management certification required — PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist (SA), or equivalent recognized credential.
- Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong execution drive and assertive follow-through — a natural tendency to push for results, hold others accountable, and ensure tasks are completed. Comfortable challenging delays and leading difficult conversations to keep projects on track.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, system design, development, testing (unit/integration/UAT), deployment, and maintenance.\
